Critical Environmentalism is a new interdisciplinary peer-review journal and review of books on the social studies of environmentalism. Critical Environmentalism publishes peer-review articles (launch forthcoming) and book reviews (launch summer 2011).
Call for papers: Eä - Journal of Medical Humanities & Social Studies of Science and Technology

It is permanently available at http://www.ea-journal.com.
Eä aims to combine in an academic publication of excellence two disciplinary fields: the biomedical, exact and natural sciences, technology, and the social sciences, the humanities and the arts, along with the need to integrate these disciplines with the latest information and communication technologies (ICTs).
The journal gathers a prestigious editorial committee, is peer reviewed by international referees and meets the requirements of periodical publications indexes, being already approved for indexation at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México’s databases CLASE and PERIODICA for Social Sciences & Humanities, and Science & Technology publications, respectively. It publishes three issues a year (April, August, and December), is presented in Spanish and English, and accepts texts in Spanish, English, Portuguese and French, reaching global impact. This publication has been created under the Web 2.0 paradigm, with a dynamic layout that promotes user-reader’s interaction between them and with the website.

Invitation. S.NET invites contributions to the Third Annual Meeting of the The Society for the Study of Nanoscience and Emerging Technologies (S.NET) to be held in Tempe (Phoenix), Arizona. The workshop will engage diverse scholars, practitioners, and policy makers in the development and implications of emerging technologies.
About S.NET. S.NET is an international association that promotes intellectual exchange and critical inquiry about the advancement of nanoscience and emerging technologies in society. The aim of the association is to advance critical reflection on developments in a broad range of new and emerging fields of science and technology, including, but not limited to, nanoscale science and engineering, biotechnology, synthetic biology, cognitive science, and geoengineering.
Eligibility. S.NET includes diverse communities, viewpoints, and methodologies from across the social sciences and humanities, and welcomes contributions from scientists, engineers, and other practitioners.

Objetivos de la actividad
- Fortalecer el periodismo científico en América Latina y el Caribe para la popularización y apropiación de la ciencia y la tecnología en altos funcionarios de gobierno y la sociedad.
- Promover el crecimiento cuantitativo y cualitativo de periodistas abocados a la divulgación científica.
- Estimular a científicos a la divulgación y comunicación de la ciencia básica y aplicada, y los resultados de sus investigaciones.
- Estimular a las casas de estudio y perfeccionamiento profesional a generar una oferta de capacitación curricular y extracurricular en divulgación científica.
- Facilitar la interacción, la reflexión y el debate de temas de interés para la divulgación científica, entre comunicadores de todo el país, América Latina y el Caribe.
