Publicado por: admin | Publicado en: Académica, Convocatorias trabajos de investigación (CFP), EventosFor doctoral students in Economics and Management of Innovation, Technology and Organizations
To be held at
The Moeller Centre / University of Cambridge, UK
January 19 at 2 pm - January 21 at 2 pm
www.druid.dk
The conference is open for all PhD students working within the broad field of economics, entrepreneurship and management of innovation and organizational change. We invite papers aiming at enhancing our understanding of the dynamics of technological, structural and institutional change at the level of firms, industries, regions and nations. DRUID is the node for an open international network - new partners are most welcome (we of course encourage DRUID Academy PhD students and students previously connected DRUID conferences to submit an abstract as well). Do not hesitate to apply even if you have not been in contact with DRUID previously.
The conference is organized by the DRUID Academy for Doctoral Education and Training and University of Cambridge. Programs from previous conferences can be found at www.druid.dk
The main emphasis is on PhD presentations. Each PhD student paper will be assigned to a “junior” (a fellow PhD student) and to a senior discussant (from DRUID faculty or invited guests). There will also be a series of keynote speakers in the program. The details of the program, titles of keynote presentations etc. will be continuously updated at the DRUID homepage: www.druid.dk/academy2012 (the website will be open by October 1)
Plenary presentations
We are inviting five to six international faculty members within this broad field to present their research. Together with a large number of DRUID faculty members, they will comment and interact with participants.
Submission
All doctoral students who wish to present a paper at the DRUID Academy 2012 Conference must submit an one-page abstract (no more, no less, no tables or graphs, a few key references are allowed on page two) before the deadline of November 3, 2011 (Twelve noon, at your location) through the conference website www.druid.dk/academy2012.
Guidelines
The abstract should start with the title of your submission, followed by your name, affiliation, year of enrolment, expected final date, and e-mail address. This important information is to come before the body of the abstract, which should be written in plain text (that is, without bullet-points or other special codes). The abstract should focus on your own contribution, not on what the existing literature has said. A few lines reviewing the existing literature are helpful, but only to position your contribution in the context of that literature. The abstract should mirror the full paper and should: 1) briefly describe the existing state-of-the-art; 2) explain the research gap that you are trying to fill; 3) give your main theoretical arguments; 4) spell out our method (and data, if an empirical paper); and 5) present your results. Submission of an abstract gives the organizers permission to disseminate it and the accompanying paper electronically or place it on the website. We reserve the right to reject abstracts, which do not comply with the above requirements.
Conference fee
Each participant will be charged a fee of Euro 400. The fee, and the DRUID Academy will cover the expenses during the conference regarding accommodation and meals Thursday January 19 after lunch until Saturday January 21, lunch included. Students enrolled in a PhD program with limited resources can apply for one of the few reduced fee options available by sending an e-mail with information on why you need support to winter2012@druid.dk when you submit your abstract. Local co-finance would be needed in all cases.
The conference is organized by the DRUID Academy for Doctoral Education and Training and University of Cambridge. Programs from previous conferences can be found at www.druid.dk
