La red Ingeniería, Justicia Social y Paz (ESJP por sus siglas en ingles), celebrará su reunión anual en Buenos Aires este a°o, en los días que preceden a la reunión conjunta de 4S-ESOCITE (Agosto 20-23). El evento tendrá lugar en el Hotel Bauen del 17-19 Agosto 2014. Cierre de envío de resúmenes: 3 de marzo.
Se invita contribuciones a manera de presentaciones, mesas de trabajo, mesas redondas o cualquier otro formato que los ponentes consideren apropiados para discutir los siguientes asuntos:
- Cómo puede la ingeniería y los/las ingenieros/as contribuir al desarrollo comunitario?
- Cómo puede la ingeniería y los/las ingenieros/as contribuir a la producción de justicia social y paz cuando históricamente y en la actualidad domina una práctica de la ingeniería institucionalizada al servicio de la injusticia social (la concentración de riqueza) y de la guerra?
- Cómo se debería educar a los ingenieros/as para que sean capaces de producir impactos positivos en términos de justicia social y paz?
- Cómo pueden y/o deben los ingenieros/as del norte global cooperar con ingenieros del sur global (en proyectos, organizaciones o programas académicos) para producir justicia social?
Por favor envíe su propuesta en forma de un resumen de máximo 400 palabras incluyendo lo siguiente:
- El tema y el contenido de su propuesta: ideas teóricas, marcos conceptuales, proyectos, experimentos, etc.
- El formato que desea utilizar. Los organizadores prefieren los formatos interactivos como mesas de trabajo (30 o 60 minutos en extensión), mesas redondas, páneles (indique que otros participantes invita a su panel), performances de teatro, instalaciones, exhibiciones, etc. Si desea hacer una presentación tradicional por favor restrínjase a una presentación oral de máximo 15 minutos más 15 minutos de discusión.

The Network Engineering Social Justice and Peace (ESJP) is proud to realize its Annual Meeting in Buenos Aires this year, just before the 4S-ESOCITE meeting (August 20-23). We invite contributions of full presentations, workshops, round tables, and any other format you might find fit to discuss and enrich the following issues:
- How can engineering and engineers contribute to community development?
- How can engineering and engineers contribute to the production of Social Justice and Peace when historically and currently many forms of institutionalized engineering have been at the service of social injustice and war?
- How should engineers capable of producing positive impacts in terms of Social Justice and Peace be educated?
- How can/should engineers from the global north work with engineers from the global south (e.g., projects? organizations? academic programs?) to produce social justice?
Submit your proposal in the form of an abstract of max 400 words in length and including the following:
- The theme or content of your proposal: theoretical ideas, frameworks, projects, experiments etc.
- The desired format for your proposal. Note that we prefer this to be as interactive as possible to allow participants to engage with your ideas. So we have preference for interactive workshops (30 min or 60 min), round tables, panels (mention other attendees you propose for the panel), theatre performances, art events, etc. If you prefer a traditional presentation/talk, please note the maximum time will be 15 min followed by 15 min for questions.
